The early 1920s saw the flourishing of the Greek community within the suburbs of West End and South Brisbane. In 1944 The Greek Community of St George was founded followed by the Greek Orthodox Church in 1960. Fifteen years later The Greek Club was built and finally opened its doors to the public in 1975.
